So what are you using when not testing these cards? That is the best video.

YOU CAN SYNC THE AUDIO AND VIDEO THRU OBS!!! Put a delay on the audio from both your mic and desktop so that they’re synced!!!

I do a ton of zoom video production but I want the flexibility for our live/virtual hybrid events so I think Elgato is the way.

I have the generic one for 9€ and there's no reason to buy the camlink unless you are making a lot of money streaming

Thank you for this review. I noticed that the quality of this video was better than the sample video, even with the CamLink card, so I assume that for these videos you are recording directly to your camera. If so, are you feeding your mic into your camera or are you recording the audio separately and then syncing in post? Thanks!

Did either card required software installation?mor were they ‘plug n play’?

Asking because anyone wanting to use a better camera for business calls, may have software install limitations on their works laptop.

Honestly, I don't think anyone can beat the price on the evga xr1 lite. Less than 50 bucks 4k 60 pass through, 1080p 60 capture. Get 2 for a dual PC stream setup for the same price as a single cam link. And then you have game capture AND camera capture instead of one or the other.

Hm, well I've started teaching English online and take it seriously. That delay on the cheapo is a nogo.

I immediately noticed that the generic one had the audio out of sync. Good news is with software like OBS you can add 100 milliseconds or so of delay to your audio so it would sync up with the video. Easy fix for something that is only really noticeable when you're clapping

As for the framerate I couldn't tell the difference. You'd wanna generally go with 30fps for live action content anyway to avoid the soap opera effect
