Last February's advice on buying and mining was the deal of a lifetime. I had written off the 30 series until I saw that episode. I did the math, saw you were right, and dropped $4.2k on a couple of EVGA cards (3090 FTW and a 3080 FTW}. As of today, they have paid for themselves twice over, and the gaming has been glorious. Best advice ever!
People complained about expensive GPUs, but then became furious when you showed how to get them for free. We have achieved peak clown world.
Thanks for amazing analytics on choosing gpus. Luv you guys, you are amazing.
Question: do I need to uninstall and reinstall amd gpu drivers if I’m going from one amd card to another amd card??
I’m going from an rx 580 to an rx 6700 xt. Do I need to reinstall the drivers or can I jus pop in the new card and that will be it?? Thx!
Yeah for those that shop with performance vs. price & stock in mind paying $389-$439 for a 3050 is a stupid move when you can pay $439-$449 RX6600 and get better results. I am waiting for my 6600 to arrive (ordered it on the 3rd). Prices will be for quite some time high, and the things that are gong on in the world don't help. With that said for those that are (or soon will be) on a tight budget the nest gen APUs will at least give people a decent 1080p option that'll not break the bank. I've also read a lot of chatter (even on Nvidia's forums) of DOA cards, and 3050 cards freezing especially those that were sold around MSRP (like through Newegg Shuffle) that is something to be concerning when choosing.
Thats awesome that there is going to be plant in the US but unfortunately the labour costs will cause the prices of gpu's to be higher than what they were before the covid-19 debacle .
Hey where abouts in Australia did your lovely wife come from originally..I am from Brisbane and its great seeing an Aussie co piloting your show!!!
It's all a scam 🙂
Hadir menyimak kak
Last year i build a new rig, invested 1k €, salvaged a few parts from the old one, like the GPU, wich is a good old GTX 980. Now i am not gonna pay 1.2k € for a RTX 3080, that goes into my 1k rig, and is more than the double price of my old 980. Thats not gonna happen thats insane. Wether the prices really go down to a "reasonable" value or i just play the latest games on lower settings. AAA titles nowaday are usually casualized crap anyways.
$950 for an RTX 3070ti? I paid $750 for an RTX 3080 at launch. These prices are still highway robbery.
What’s the better buy right now between a 3080ti for $1850 or a 6800xt for $1650 or a 3070ti for $970 for all 3 uses of gaming, streaming and everyday use at 1440p? Upgrading from a 2070 and going to pair with a 5900x.
3070ti for 900 is bad lol
you too are like from 2 talking heads..:D
Czechia: RX 6900 xt Gigabyte Gaming OC – 47-43.000 czk. ~1900 USD
i dont NEED a pc but considering building one. currently have a laptop with an 8th gen i7 and 1070 and would like something with way more beef for when im home. want to be able to do 4k60 med/hi on cyberpunk for the least money possible (just cpu/gpu, the rest isnt a problem for me)
trying to decide if i should get a 5700g until prices come down and get a gpu or hold off entirely to get cpu/gpu together when ddr5 stabilizes
new rx6600-xt for $499 deal or no deal?
So if the EVGA 3080 ti FTW, MSI 3080 ti gaming trio, Gigabyte AORUS Master or Extreme 3080 ti, & ASUS TUF 3080 ti OC are all close in price, which would you suggest to get? Would it be at that point just a matter of brand preference or does one of those stand out based on the cooler?
Yay stuff available in US, now time to wait for the EU prices to move down as well. 6700xt still for 1K USD :/
i love your videos. please keep it up.
The prices aren't reasonable.
5700G Is a good buy under $300
great channel!…question: I recently bought an AMD 5800X with an MSI X570 Tomahawk motherboard…this is my first time with AMD in over a decade…what's the difference between Core Performance Boost vs Precision Boost Overdrive?…PBO seems like the auto-overclocking setting but then what does Core Performance Boost do?…should I have it enabled (outside of any factory overclocks I don't manually overclock and prefer leaving everything at stock)?
There was such thing as too much VRAM though because the R9 390 was a great 1080p card but it wasn’t fast enough to saturate the entire memory at that resolution and AMD abandoned it a little early. Still a beast of a card but a perfect example. The most modern example is the RTX 3060. Not fast enough to use the full 12GB because of GPU core.
RTX 3050 for $439 is not a deal when you can get the RX 6600 for $439 too. However, 3070 Ti for $849 is the same price as the weaker 6700 XT, so yes, a great deal there.
Nvidia has better features but in general higher prices. For me as a Linux user, Nvidia is off the table until they start playing ball with the rest of the Open Source world – RTX just doesn't do enough of what I need.
may I have a timestamp or please tell me around when you responded to the Newegg/GamersNexus situation?
in slovakia that zotac cards are the cheepest models from all of brands you can buy i dont understand why is it so different that zotac holo 3080ti is 1660Eur already with the tax its final price that is 1861USD strange
After having a bad reputation, desperate step to get back in business, assuming having good prices for one day will wipe out bad reputation build up the couple of last years.
The problem is solved if the "good" prices are permanent, and you have the possibility, to choose Brand, Model and seller at reasonable prices, as long this is not achieved its just a big marketing trick, to get back in market after the professional performance the shown at the GN-topic
lol Carey Holzman just did a live PC build stream and the title of it is calling it an 8 year PC and it has a 6 core CPU (32gb RAM though, so that could be worse)
I left a comment that Tech Deals would like to have a talk with you (among other things)
2060 vs 6600 or 3060 vs 6600-xt?
spending $2500+ on just a gpu to play a cyberpunk like game with raytracing too much of an ask. get better programmers to build games.
just picked up a MSI Suprim RTX 3070 Ti at newegg for $996.
Nothing has or will touch my 1080ti for the next 5 years…
I would only buy a Zotac Card from their store directly. Price is usually a bit cheaper and they don’t charge tax.
Take into account undervolt, I've seen several benchmarks with undervolts and a couple of FPS lost but almost 10C cooler… so yea those cheap coolers become decent enough coolers.
i snagged the asus 6600xt. it was on my notify list so i got an in stock update by email. it was actually in stock all night, i was surprised. the last time it was in stock (last month), it went OOS in like an hour.
I just want a 6800xt at MSRP… FFS…
And all of a sudden the 2200 I paid at release for my Asus Strix 3090 OC now seems much more reasonable
At this point consumers should be boycotting newegg until they fix they MANY issues.
Just upgraded to a Asus tuff 3080ti for msrp from a 2080ti. Came to the realization cards aren’t coming down and I’m only not buying out of stubbornness.,
I’m going to buy some more nvda stock. Ray tracing and DLSS can’t be match. As a company they are always thinking about what’s next and how do I improve the gaming experience beyond framerates. Brought physX did little with it but then brought the world Gsync, ray tracing and now DLSS. Amazing company!
3080 still over $2.1k. a few hundred over MSRP is an ok deal.
All i want is an RTX 3050 under 300$, not asking for much 🙁
Nothing reasonable about those prices.
Hello Tech and Rouge. I did not have the time to ask you during the stream, but i am considering upgrading my CPU. I am stuck between 12700k and 12900k, i have a Noctua DH15 cooler for it. I am worried that the i9 will run way hotter … i don't want liquid cooler and i have the money for both CPU's. I plan to use it mainly for Gaming/Streaming and Recording at the same time, and then rendering with Vegas. What should i pick ? Thanks.
crypto is relief to Russia and the mining is against the environment so expecting sanctions to ban crypto mining and not to sell any to Russia 🙂 now to mention the cold war already started
I scored a combo deal. I got a B550 Strix -F and a 3060 Rog Strix and I sold the Motherboard for 200$ all together It costed 724$ after taxes Im Happy with it because my XFX Rx 480 8gb was starting to show its age its still a great card though. But Im curious how much of an increase is the upgrade from the 480 to the 3060.
So in a matter of a couple years you went from doing HQ comp videos, to shilling NewEgg and stating "oh, $950 for a graphics card is a great deal!". It's embarrassing. Un-subbed.
LOL these are not even close to reasonable. 6600xt is the best deal you can get rn period. Everything else is MASSIVELY overpriced. $770 canadian for a 6600xt but $1100 CAD for a 6700xt. What a JOKE.
The RTX 3050 is $368 USD in Canada. I wouldn't pay more for it in the US than in Canada. The other good options are the Radeon 6600, the RTX 3060, and the 3070 Ti. That's it imo.
