Absolutely no way that thing cost 200k. I have a mavic mini, small, goes up to 4km ( i only ever got it out 2km) its a little bit heavier and only cost only 500. When you see contracts like this you know well money is being funneled

This is why the taxpayers should be able to have a say on what our gov buys. Fucking ridiculous pricing, imagine how many of these that will be destroyed by accident…yay taxes

What a goddamn ripoff, it's no wonder we waste three quarters of a trillion dollars every year on this crap.

Handheld helicopter drone $500 (for an expensive one), thermal imaging sensor $3000 (HQ), night vision sensor $3000 (HQ), standard camera sensor $100 (HQ), tablet $3000 (High end), So, if I were to develop the hardware we are looking at about $10K, add in custom military software and a few bells and whistles, and you could reasonably sell the whole system for $20K-$30K and your still making a hefty profit, also consider that the Military has multiple reserved frequencies for transmission and reception of data, and a custom encryption chip. Unless your doing all this for a single unit then you should still be well within the $30K price tag.
I picked top of the line/high end equipment across the board, we might be able to argue supply shortages but this is still a reasonable cost even with that. So, I'm trying to figure out why something a hobbyist could design and build for under $30K is costing the military nearly an order of magnitude more?

ALL THIS PROVES IS GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION. THE GOVERNMENT GIVES SPECIAL CONTRACT'S TO "SPECIAL INTREST" AKA CORRUPTION. That could've been made for a few hundred dollars and probably very high quality for a few thousand.

I’m surprised this drone has a traditional helicopter design, rather than the common drone commercial and civilian quadcopter design that is much more stable and easier to fly, especially in high winds.

It looks like a fun toy, not a real working drone.

Should name it "the humming bird" cause if it were painted like one it'd move like 1 also. Hard to spot, harder to catch, impossible to shoot. If it were at night it's only way of knowing is the sound. Equip it with night vision which I'm sure it already has. Infrared which also I'm sure it has. In an urban environment it's ideal, tho in a forest setting it'd may get a surprise branch. I'd say if it was possible increase the size a wee tiny bit enough to hold a .22 caliber with a 1 shot 1 kill capacity. Imagine having 10 enemies up top a cliff side sniping down a team of allies. Send in 10 of them up behind them snipe the snipers.. this lil gizmo has much potential

This is why our country is in trillions of dollars of debt. They're spending $200,000 on something that might cost $100 to make. Military industrial complex has been screwing us left, right, and center from the gate, and we were warned by Eisenhower and Kennedy.

195 grand for a drone, but not the money for a decent translation.
The title is not German! The sentence makes no sense at all.
Pathetic.

Remember that 4 winged dragon fly that was on Kickstarter and then the military bought it out and they disappeared. This kind of stuff is cool but if you can create a cure for ADHD the world will be far more advanced. It's like they want the population to be degenerated.

Everytime I see a video about this spy copter the price rises, it started at $40,000 dollars, then slowly crept up to $70,000 and now it's over $190,000, I know inflation exists but this is ridiculous.
