Coming from a product based super chill and fun company…i quit Big4 in just 3 months. I realised one should either choose Bug4 or Life! And i strongly believe this is a very subjective experience and could vary from person to person. Just wanted to share how I felt.

Thank you for sharing! I would be interested in learning more about your data science experience as I tried to learn this online and I was overwhelmed..to me statistics is the most difficult part

but couldnt you push back on the working weekends or after office hours? Sometimes the work life balance issue is localised (ie within a department)

Can you make a video on your next steps. How did you realize your why/ who/ next career? How did you move towards that? Basically the continuation after this life event. Thank you

Helpful insights. Consulting is really sounding more brutal the more I see videos like these. Thanks.

Same here, I left a useless purchasing internship because they didn't feel that my time was important. Most of the days, I had to do pretend work for something I could finish in an hour. I had internship from Monday until Thursday, and when the last week of summer came, I wanted to start my school year strong. I asked if I could come in later at 10:00 am and push the hours to Friday which there would be no difference. The b** obese manager got mad at me and said, "You young kids are so annoying. Back in my days, we work with what we were given(bruh she is only 30)" but you chunky lard, isn't the point of the program self development? I told you I was planning to use that time to study and get back into the habit routines? What difference does it make? I'll keep just doing pretend work and i'll still be in for Friday to make-up the hours which she does allow me sometimes. I ended up quitting because I realized, they contradicted the point of their internship program. That shit was soul numbing, never again

what was the general salary range as a manager there?

Why do so many people now make statements sound like questions? I believe it’s the trend of ‘upspeak’ ..

It needs to stop. Adults speaking like children with trailing the end of their statements upward like when they asking questions.

Also, equally loud as the speaker background music needs to stop. Just talk.. no cheesy, repetitive music.

Mostly good content and example here.. but the constant up-speak and repetitive, generic music is quite annoying after a few minutes.

All of this is written with good intent.

Thanks for the video. Question …Is it possible to be a mother with a young kid and work for a big 4 ? Or career will be hardly compromised?

deloitte:

underpays

lied about job scope to candidates

no pay increment during pandemic

massive overtime

stolen leave from employees for utilisation

dirty politics and blaming managers

understuffed projects

13:50 I just started at Deloitte, but I’ve heard they basically force you to take PTO.

im glad many of ex-deloitters are coming out to call what deloitte is, a scam, a farce, a toxic piece of shit. Let's all do our part to make sure graduates after us dont fall for this shit. spread the word!

I was hired at deloitte and left after the 1st day. It was the worst feeling for me that time. Why i did it? Due to the whole spirit. Something was too good to be true. Too pretentious. When I talked to the hr for a problem i faced was like "i am listening to you because i have to, then everything i gonna continue as it was supposed to". They wanted to show them they do me a favor for hiring me. Now and after the almost 2 years that passed i feel kind of happy. Too many working hours for the minimun salary in my country. Now i feel well. After 6 months i found another opportunity for my first job, everything went well. Nice choice you quit!! Stay safe

I’m in my last semester of master of human resource management and did an internship at Deloitte and let me tell you how burnt out I was after 4 months. I got an offer to come back as an analyst in March. I’m honestly doing it to get to a position where I can easily be employable. Also want to start YouTube next year.

I just don’t understand how this company stills working this way… They always have a lot of jobs offers, I often see the same job position comes back few months later on LinkedIn. If a lot ppl always quit their position, how do they build strong & cohesive teams !? lol I’m sorry but it’s a red flag to not apply there.

Love that you kept the earring falling off bit! I remember going to a fancy restaurant and being so excited that I bumped my earring off. Haha! So real. So real. Ex-Deloitter here. I left that hell hole a few months ago myself. Wish you all the best on your journey.

I'm quitting too…joined as a fresher but it's only been 6 months and they give me work more than my capacity…it's mentally exhausting and I don't know if it's a good decision to leave the firm so early but I don't have the heart to work like this
